Bridges to Independence Academy

We Are Bridges!

The Bridges to Independence Academy is a program for 18-21 year old post-high school students with individualized, special needs, geared to educate these young adults to be as independent as possible. This program is housed within the Swift Creek High School building, but is held within a separate suite designed specifically for the needs of this program. The suite includes a full kitchen, break-out rooms, classroom area, laundry facilities, and a bathing/hygiene area. The Bridges students and staff uplift the school and community as they learn and practice life skills in various settings.

It is the goal of Bridges to help students acquire the skills they need to live their most independent lives possible. Each student is unique in their needs and abilities, thus programming is individual. The program focuses on functional academics, community knowledge, job coaching, community job experiences, and various daily living skills.
